Service Description
Prepare for Birth is a half-day, in-person intensive for pregnant women who want to feel confident, calm, and prepared for labour and birth through practical, embodied learning rather than information overload. This intensive mirrors the structure of my online Blissful Birth Method course, brings it into the body in-person! We move through the stages of labour and explore embodied techniques you can practise and use at each stage, supporting both your physical experience and your nervous system. The focus is on doing and feeling, not just learning. You’ll be guided through breath, prenatal yoga–based movement, sound, relaxation, meditation, and visualisation, with time to practise each technique and understand how and when it may be helpful during labour. Throughout the intensive, we’ll explore: What the stages of labour (1–4) are, how they can feel like physically and emotionally How hormones, environment, and mindset influence labour Breathing techniques to support different stages of labour Prenatal yoga–based movement and positions for comfort and progress Using sound and vocalisation to work with intensity A full birth rehearsal (yes, like a wedding rehearsal!) so that you know what to do when the time comes Deep relaxation, meditation, and visualisation to support focus and calm Embodied tools to support the immediate postpartum period The session is paced to allow space for questions, reflection, and integration, with a break for tea and refreshments, which are provided. We close with a guided relaxation and birth-focused visualisation, helping you leave feeling grounded, supported, and resourced for your own unique birth experience. A booklet with the information and practises we learn in the class will be provided. This intensive is ideal for women 24+weeks of pregnancy (but suitable from 12+ weeks), open to all birth choices, and no previous yoga experience is needed. This session is taught by Helen, a qualified prenatal yoga and birth preparation teacher.
